Mastercraft industrial Shelves Hooks – pt2
Part 2 : First Actual prototype
My partner managed to resurrect one of our printer and we managed to get a first prototype of the support and honestly, it’s not perfect but i’m pretty darned happy with the first version. I already have a few things to “upgrade” on the model but I still am going to be able to use that first version.

As you can see in the picture, the center gap is pretty much on point, but the rest are not as good. I’ll make a v2 that will correct these problems. Also, the bottom holes are not that sturdy. I might move them a bit in hope that it’s less close to the center. Also, it could be a bit more snug on the outside.

I tried to install inserts instead of nuts because my stash is a bit low (aka: completely out of) on M3 nuts. I got a bunch of these and they are also very well suited for the job! but the bottom hole is a bit too close to the center for the anchor, making the thing fit a little less perfectly at the center. It’s a first prototype afterall. As a note to self, I might have to rework the back hole for nuts if I want to use inserts because it doesn’t fit very well when installing these. (which is why I am not using both top holes).

AND before further ado, the finished installation, with the desoldering pump holder! (yes, I pierced 4 holes to lines with the holes on the support piece, but i ended up only using 2. Also, there was the 2 original holes that was holding it with twist ties…. don’t judge hehe).
Next up is going to be the tape holder and hopefilly a more snug support! 😀
To be continued…
