Part 1 : The idea

So, I’ve been using a Raspberry Pi as my bench computer due to it size and that I can use the GPIOs from it. It worked great so far but the power supply that I purchased has a On/Off switch on it that is not extremely convenient. I had the idea of building a switch that I’ll wall mount right next to the rPi and will be much more convenient!

The build is not yet started as I’m waiting for the parts required for it but, here’s a quick diagram that will explain what Is being planed.

Simple Kicad diagram

The input side has a USB-C connector and it will output on a USB-A port, which will be connected to the rPi. Also, the switch is one of these with an embedded LED ring to make it more fancy (I tried my best to represent it in the diagram).

The components

So now, the boring part…. waiting for parts.

To be continued…
